The Kid's Arts Academy is a creative-arts and cooking group for 4-13year olds. All of our inspiring activities are designed by CRB checked professionals whose experience of working with children and dedication to making creative learning fun make our clubs a great place to be.
The objective of the Academy is to provide the opportunity for children to develop their artistic and cooking skills and have lots of fun! Whilst learning and developing creative techniques the children are also taught how to develop their ideas and in doing so make their imaginations become a reality. At the heart of all of the Kid's Arts Academy's activities there is a strong emphasis on:
- developing each child's imagination
- exploring and developing different creative techniques and how different materials & ingredients can be used
- developing their artistic & culinary vocabulary & confidence to discuss each other’s work and develop their ideas
- listening to and sharing opinions on how to approach creative projects as a team
The Kids Arts Academy also supports the ‘Every Child Matters Aims’:
- be healthy
- stay safe
- enjoy and achieve
- make a positive contribution achieve economic well-being
About Hannah
Hannah trained as a primary school teacher at Sheffield Hallam University and in her teaching life worked to enhance the curriculum through her role as whole school subject co-ordinator for Art and Design. Hannah also worked as a freelance artist and eventually specialised in designing and making contemporary stained glass panels selling her work in craft shops and galleries around the country and also working to commission.
It was after writing a scheme of work for Art and Design for an educational publishing company that Hannah made the decision to set up the Kids Arts Academy in Sheffield in 2008. She now also runs the clubs at a variety of schools in and around the South Yorkshire area and is expanding into Derbyshire this Spring.
